New Proposals

Hey World!

Haven't blogged on here for a while. I've been too busy working on writing projects, hanging with friends, and planning out other writing projects. I won't go too in detail right now, because sooner or later on my alternate blog (jamesfincher.livejournal.com) I'm going to put in a list of my coming soon projects, and my current projects. Not really for your sake, but for my memory's sake.

Anyhow, besides writing, my life's been pretty eventful. Just yesterday, my dad proposed to his girlfriend (who also happens to be my homeroom teacher). I helped plan the proposal with my padre, and even chose the song that he would sing to her. The song was a rewrite of Michael Buble's song "Haven't Met you Yet". My father rewrote the song and called it, "Haven't Asked you Yet".

Pretty great.

Sure, it'll be a change in my life, but I welcome change. There'll be some easy things, like sharing a room with my best friend for instance, and some hard things. I won't give you an example of the hard things, because it wouldn't be anything you'd understand.

But I'm actually not upset about it. Not yet, at least. At the moment, I'm welcoming the challenge of overcoming the hard things, and having fun with it.

Besides, the wedding's not for a while. So the change won't really come till then, I suppose.

But when the change comes, I'll be ready.

Hanging with the Fam...I mean...facebook.

Yep. It's me again! Writing another epic blog post. :)

At the moment, I am sitting on the guest bed, in the guest room, in my grandparents' house. My laptop is sitting comfortably on my legs, and I'm just typing away aimlessly.

I've been hanging with the fam for a while now, ever since Monday. It's been a good week so far, eating amazing food and spending time with amazing people. Also, it's given me some much needed time to relax.

Something else that I have just noticed. I have been spending a lot more time on facebook! Chatting with people has become a necessity. Ahhhhhh, facebook. Mark Zuckerburg/Zuckerberg, whichever it is, did a fantastic job on the facebook interface. Easy to use, but can also be used to do pretty complicated things. A range of people use facebook now too! I mean, it's not like just for teens or just for adults. It's become something that every age group is familiar with.

It's awesome!

Well, that's all I really had to say. Facebook and family is epic! And not necessarily in that order...

Quote of the Moment (that totally describes my family):
The family.  We were a strange little band of characters trudging through life sharing diseases and toothpaste, coveting one another's desserts, hiding shampoo, borrowing money, locking each other out of our rooms, inflicting pain and kissing to heal it in the same instant, loving, laughing, defending, and trying to figure out the common thread that bound us all together.  ~Erma Bombeck

I MISS DANIELLE!

I'm done with my History project, done with all of my class work, and I'm bored. So I'm just writing a quick blog post. Not much has happened lately besides my computer getting the blue screen of death. Luckily they fixed it and they don't have to wipe anything. But I think I got another virus the day I got back, so I'm taking it back AGAIN!!

Ugh.

Oh well...

At the moment I'm missing my big sister. I talked to her on the phone a little while ago, and ever since I've been wanting to see her again. Luckily, I'm going to see her this weekend. :) YAY!

A couple minutes ago my principal was blasting that song, "Istanbul not Constantinople" on his computer. So my friend and I rammed him like a freight train. Too bad he rammed us like three freight trains... So yeah he held us back, but another friend of mine turned it off while he was occupied with us.

Good times.

So yeah, my week has been boring. Aside from the feeding of hobos, the helping of old ladies, and the community of service. :/ Boring week indeed.

Loud sigh. Well I'll post again soon!

Another Happy Sabbath

Happy Sabbath everybody! How goes it? I'm just sitting here on meh laptop, and I decided to write a little blog while I'm here. Not much has happened recently, except that I ran across a book series that I am very excited about. The Circle Series is what it's called. Written by the brilliant Ted Dekker. Beautifully written, awesome story, hilarious and like-able characters, what else could I ask for?

Hey, I don't know if I've mentioned this in any of my other blogs, but right now I'm writing a book. A book I hope to publish before I finish High School. In fact, my preference would be to publish it before I begin High School. But at the pace we're going (yes, I'm writing it with a friend) it won't get published for another two years! It's a Science Fiction book which I've actually had the idea for since I was like...six! I've remembered it all these years, then I ran through it and kind of "rewrote" it in my mind. I told my friend Amanda about it, she loved the idea, and now we're writing a book.

I'm afraid I'm not going to post this anywhere for a long time. It's not even close to finished, and this is only a first draft. So I don't need any critics to start critiquing my work yet.

One other thing I'd like to talk about briefly here, is how much my writing has improved. I looked at a story I had written a while back, and realized that my writing had improved tremendously. I couldn't figure out what it was that made me improve so much. I then remembered two things, one being Amanda. She was always so good at helping me improve my writing, without acting like a critic and making me feel sad. Well, not usually. ;) The second thing that helped me improve my writing, was reading and critiquing other people's writing. Not necessarily published books. That didn't help me as much as reading stories by non-professional authors, and trying to help them improve.

Well, that's all I got to say for now.

God bless, and thanks for reading.

14th Birthday, School, and StarQuest!

I haven't posted in a while, and thus, am posting now. Those of you who actually read my blog, maybe have been wondering what has happened to me. Well, I'll tell you. StarQuest-I mean, StarCraft. You see, my sister has been teasing me about this new game I got called Starcraft 2. Some of you must have heard of it. I mean, it is the most anticipated game of 2010. People have been waiting for it since 1998!

Anyway, she pretends she forgets the name and calls it StarQuest, which is why I pretended to forget the name earlier.

Now that we have gotten that cleared up, let me tell you what has happened in my life lately:

*Summer Vacation (lots of traveling, not much relaxing)
*Lots of movies
*Lots of writing
*Lots of making movies
*Not so much reading
*Too much family. (Well, I guess you can never have too much family. But if you could get close, that's where I am)
*14th Birthday
*School's return (Bleh!)

And that's all I want to tell you honestly. The rest of my life has been very...boring? No. Boring is not the word. More like, not interesting enough to talk about. Yeah. That's it.

Anyway, like I mentioned earlier, I also had my 14th Birthday! It was actually only four days ago. The day school started (curse you school!!) Luckily, I had like three celebrations so...it's all good. :)

Now the great thing about turning 14 is, you can start to flirt with the 15 year olds without getting the strange stares. At least, I was sure that was how it was going to be. But let me tell you, it's not true. I got even MORE strange stares. But, I have a motto to keep me motivated and cocky... "Blame it on the acne!" Even though I don't have acne (thank God), it somehow still comforts me.

I'm still waiting for the day when I'll look in the mirror and say, "I am finally, an adult." But according to many people, I'll never come to that realization because of the slow process. But see, I can't imagine myself looking in the mirror when I'm like 96 and saying, "I look just the way I used to be!" I'm pretty sure one day I'll look in the mirror, see myself, scream, and then say, "I'M OLD!!" Maybe I'm wrong, who knows?

That's all I got to say right now. So, as always...

Happy Sabbath!

Happy Sabbath everybody.

I just thought I'd post a little about what's going on with my life.

Well, I'm going to go on a cruise to Mexico tomorrow. That should be fun, but I don't know what to expect. I've never been on a cruise ship. But my family saved some money, and planned like a year ahead, so we're finally doing it.

Right now, I'm listening to one of my favorite christian songs.

Here's the link:

I love that song.

Whenever I listen to that song, I always feel so much closer to God. I can't explain it, but when I play video games, watch TV, read fiction, stuff like that, life has a different feeling to it. When I listen to Remedy Drive, or read the Bible, however, life suddenly takes on this brighter look. I think that's why every Sabbath when I look outside, everything looks prettier than it usually does.

If you guys have time, I'd like you to comment and tell me what you do on Sabbath/Saturday mornings.

Lately, life has been taking a new turn. New people are coming into my life, and some are leaving. Unfortunately, many of the changes that have been happening I'm not liking so much.
____________________________________________________________________

I also thought I'd mention about why I write stories. Well, there are a couple reasons:

1) My imagination is very vast, so I like to let it all out in different stories.

2) If I'm mad, I don't know how to express it without making other people suffer. That's why if I'm writing, I make my characters angry, so then my feelings can be put on them. If that makes any sense.

3) A lot of the time, it's to get my mind off of things.

Btw, if you haven't read any of my stories, but would like to, go to this link:

I hope you guys have an awesome Sabbath! :)

Basics of Life

In my life, I've learned a couple of things. From, how to use the bathroom, to, how to talk your way out of situations. And I've found, that everytime you learn something, your character has slightly changed. When I learned about the meaning of friendship, I stopped lying to my friends for attention.

That's why it's important to be careful what you learn. Don't learn how to smoke, if you don't plan on smoking afterwards. It's common sense.

Though, learning why smoking is bad, is another matter. You're giving yourself information that you can use later. For instance, lets say that I learned, "Smoking causes cancer, heart disease and chronic lung disease. It kills 120,000 people in the UK every year and is the single most preventable cause of early death in the world.". Now lets say I had a friend who smoked, and he asked me why I didn't smoke. Wouldn't it be nice to know that information? I could tell him, and maybe he would consider throwing away his cigarettes.

____________________________________________________________________

I'm getting ahead of myself. My name is Anthony. I am a thirteen year old, and I am a Seventh Day Adventist. My dad is a pastor, and my mom works in a hospital.

My parents divorced early this year. Though, they had separated about three years ago.

And no, neither of my parents were unfaithful or anything like that. I'll just leave it at, it's not interesting enough to talk about it (that, and I don't want to be misunderstood).

Anyway, I have two siblings. A younger brother, Logan (9 since December). And an older sister, Danielle (17). They each are four years apart from me (for those of you who can't do math).

____________________________________________________________________

A lot of you might be wondering why I'm writing a blog at all. Well, I write stories. Books, stuff like that. Haven't attempted to publish, yet. Currently working on a Romance/Teen/Young Adult/etc. kind of a book. And I've been wanting to write something more about MY personal feelings.

Though, considering no one will want to read a BOOK about my feelings. I thought I'd blog about it!

So I'm writing about my feelings about things, people. I'll write about where I've been going and what's been happening in my life. Things like that.

I'm guessing that no one will end up reading this blog anyway, so I guess a better word for it will be a public journal.

Now, at the end of every blog post, I shall put a quote. It could be funny, it could be deep. ANYTHING!

Well, guess there's nothing left to say but,

God bless!
